Outpourings of love for Barry Manilow’s tremendous donation to Clark County Schools

An outpouring of love and well deserved recognition from the media has been given to Barry Manilow for his tremendous and outstanding contribution to Clark County schools in Nevada. You can view photos (Barry looks FANTASTIC!), articles and video of the launch in Las Vegas by clicking here Manilow Music Project. Just heard of another great article.

On Thursday during a presentation at Valley High School in Nevada Barry spoke to hundreds of  grateful students, teachers and parents about how important music was to him as a student and why he’s doing what he can to benefit music programs in public schools who are facing the chopping block due to budget cuts.

Over $500,000 in instruments were delivered to fifteen schools via five semi-trucks. Dozens of folks from Barry’s management group and the Manilow Music Project, who also deserve a tremendous amount of credit, rolled up their sleeves and worked tirelessly to make the ceremony and distribution happen.

Witnessing the tears of joy and happy faces from the recipients of this amazing gift had to be an awe inspiring moment for all. Seeing the expression on Barry’s face is confirmation it truly is better to give than receive. I think he received as much joy, if not more, by his selfless act of giving.

Barry’s wonderful sense of humor was ever present as he “told the students that they were probably wondering why he was there, but he promised them that he was the “Justin Bieber of the ’70s.”

Of course I don’t need a reminder as to the phenomenal musician, humanitarian and person Barry is. My unwavering admiration continues to grow as he finds new ways to inspire and impress me. As I often say Barry finds a way to keep topping himself.

Thank you Barry for all you do!

The smile on Barry’s face says it
